Hello & Welcome

I’m Amy, and I work with families to create beautiful and personal funeral, memorial and interment of ashes services for their loved ones.

It is an honour to conduct a service for a family and to give them a unique, special and meaningful service that captures their loved one’s spirit and personality.

I have conducted hundreds of services and the greatest compliment I receive afterwards is when people assume that I knew the deceased well. I am honoured to have been asked back by families when they have needed another service.

"We just wanted to say a huge thank you for the extremely beautiful service you conducted for Sandra

…the service had a wonderful flow and your compassionate words and delivery definitely conveyed the love the whole family have for Sandra. The feeling of celebrating Sandra’s life was paramount.… All the guests commented on how wonderful the service was, that Sandra would have loved it and it was very ‘her’. A friend also stated that she had never been to such an uplifting funeral.

Amy, because of your exceptional skills and kind nature, we were able to give Sandra the farewell we so wished to. The service balanced loss, hope and thanks and we will be forever grateful to you."

 RE and family, Oadby

How it works

We will meet (in person or online) and together we will create a unique and personal funeral, memorial or interment of ashes service that reflects the personality and life of your loved one. This can include music, songs or videos, poems and readings, or hymns, readings and prayers – just as you and the deceased would wish.

Following our meeting, I will then create a unique and meaningful service (including a personal eulogy if you would like me to) that reflects the life and personality of the deceased with warmth and sensitivity. You will have the chance to read through the eulogy that I write to make any amendments.

The service will be conducted professionally and with compassion and, following the ceremony, I will send you a digital and paper copy as a keepsake.

Funerals

Whether you hold a funeral at a crematorium, at a cemetery or natural burial ground or another location, we will honour and celebrate your loved one’s life and their unique story; cherish their memory; and support each other.

(For privacy, some people’s names have been changed).

It’s a bit tricky…People’s lives are complex, and families are often complicated.

When I met Andy’s daughter to arrange his funeral, I discovered a story where there were many unhappy years. We agreed that the funeral would not be a retelling of his life story but a celebration of the qwerky, special individual that he was and what he meant as a brother, a dad and a grandad.

‘Amy, thank you for doing such a wonderful job in conducting my lovely dad’s funeral. We all thought you captured my dad’s unique character very well and I know he would have loved it!’

The 102-year-old Speed Queen

Gracie had lived a very full life and in her nineties showed no sign of slowing down! She was still riding on the back of a Harley Davidson and going to rock concerts. When the family showed me a video of her on a race track in a souped-up Capri, I asked them if they would like this in the funeral service – they did and it was fantastic!

‘It was an absolute pleasure to work with you on Mum’s service. You did such a wonderful job depicting her life and portraying her personality and legacy to us all.’

A much-loved dad, lost to dementia

When I met Peter’s wife and daughter, they were trapped with the memories of the last few very difficult years as Peter had lost all memory and knowledge of his family. It was heartbreaking. But telling the stories of his life to me and capturing these memories of so many good years, brought back their lovely husband and dad. Whilst his funeral acknowledged their loss through dementia and then his death, it was also a celebration of a talented, lovely man.

‘I've still got the order of service in my kitchen and it's like Dad is constantly looking down and smiling at me, I've got only happy memories now and you were a massive part of getting me there so honestly, I will be eternally grateful.’

Always personal – A service for a special mum ‘It was truly lovely, as if you knew her, and everyone said what a beautiful service it was. Some even saying it was the best funeral they had been to!’

Do you want to plan ahead?

Increasingly, people are thinking ahead and would like some input as to what their funeral will look like when the time comes.

Derek is in his late eighties and wanted to take away much of the stress of funeral organising for his sons when the time eventually comes. We sat down together one morning, and Derek told me the music that he would like for his funeral and then told me the story of his life. I wrote a eulogy for Derek based on what he told me and sent it to him to read through – which prompted further memories that could then be included.

Derek was very happy that this was sorted and that there would be less for his children to do when he passed away.

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.

Interment of Ashes Ceremonies – A Final Goodbye

When your loved one has been cremated, you may want some special words said as you say your final ‘goodbye’.

This may be after a full funeral at a crematorium or after an unattended (direct) cremation.

Many families invite me to help them with this final ceremony where we give thanks for their loved one’s life before laying their last mortal remains to rest.

Memorial Services

Sometimes a memorial service rather than a funeral service works best.

Peter, who was a world-renowned expert in his field of science, passed away tragically and unexpectedly abroad. His widow asked me to lead an interment of ashes ceremony for close family and friends and then to lead a memorial service for family, friends and colleagues. Around a hundred people attended and got their chance to remember and honour a well-loved and respected man.

Tony had wanted a direct cremation, but his widow and family wanted the chance to gather friends and family together to celebrate his life. Brenda organised the venue – a function room at a local pub – and I then wrote and delivered a eulogy celebrating Tony’s life. We raised a toast to Tony and then there was the chance to look at old photos and to share memories together.

Testimonials & a word of thanks

I have had the honour and privilege to work with hundreds of families to say goodbye to their loved one. Here are just a few of the very many lovely words that people have sent me after a service.

Amy conducted my dads service in November 2022. At first I was a little apprehensive as I had never organised a funeral, however, on my first meeting with Amy she put me at ease, she was very organised, professional, caring, calming and listened to what I wanted.

Amy conducted the service brilliantly, her words were lovely and she described my father to the letter, everyone who attended said she had a lovely calming voice and was just Brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart on making a very sad occasion a lovely occasion.

I just had to write to say a huge thank you for helping George and I through such a sad time. You made everything run so smoothly, from our first meeting with you, through to the service yesterday.  You told the story of Roy's life on our behalf, with such compassion and warmth, really reflecting on the kind, caring man that he was.  For this we will be forever grateful.

Thank you so so much for everything you did both on the lead up and on mums special day. So many of those who joined us on Friday said such beautiful things about how personal the service was and how fantastic you were. It truly felt like you knew mum and we feel so lucky to have had you with us in celebrating her memory.

Whilst the circumstances have been so sad, we feel incredibly privileged to have met you and to have been able to have had such benefit from your skill and brilliance in honouring mum.

You are a very special lady… thank you

Again, many, many thanks for doing such a wonderful service for Mum.  She was very special and she deserved a very special service - which you certainly provided!

I have now had time to take stock and get my breathe following Ks funeral.

I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you  I don't say this light heartedly but I thought your service was the best I have ever been to, your empathy and compassion for everyone was outstanding.  I would have no problem recommending you to any one

Thank you so much.

A huge thank you once again,  Words cannot describe our gratitude for your calm and caring approach to such a difficult time enabling us to remember mum in the very best way possible.

You crafted the most perfect tribute and delivered it so warmly and with gentle humour.  Everyone complimented the tribute - and how you delivered the ceremony.

Music, poetry and readings, slide shows or videos...

can all help to make your service feel personal and unique.

I can help guide you with choices of music – choose what feels right for you and your loved one.

I have a large bank of poetry and readings, and I can help find words that feel appropriate.

You may want a religious element to the service in terms of prayers, hymns or readings or you may prefer a completely non-religious ceremonyservice. Together, we will create a beautiful, loving goodbye.

Very often there is the option to include family photos and videos. We can find numerous ways of making the service special.

Let me help you to create a wonderful service full of memories to treasure.
